Hoot Tools - Knife No. 1
Measures: 7" x 1.125"
The potter's knife is an essential tool, one I always find myself reaching for. From slicing open clay boxes to faceting plate rims and carving decorative lines - this knife can do it all.
With a carbon steel blade and walnut wooden handle, this knife was designed to endure the abuse of a pottery studio.
The blades are heat treated for a balance of hardness and toughness, and sharpened to a razors edge. They are thin and flexible, springing back into shape resisting deformation.
As with any carbon steel blade, it is recommended to keep it dry in storage. A quick coat of oil after use will prevent oxidation and extend its lifespan. The blades are easily sharpened on a whetstone / other knife sharpening device, making it a reliable tool for years to come.
